Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Home > Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 students. The Department has good infrastructural facilitates and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories such as electrical machines lab, Microcontroller lab, control systems lab, power electronics lab, lab, power system simulation lab, relay and high voltage lab. Faculty members in the Department having vast experience in their field. The faculty has succeeded in keeping a lively atmosphere among the students, with timely upgradations in the curriculum and innovative teaching techniques. The staff members are deputed to participate in workshops, conferences, symposia and refresher courses to keep in pace with recent developments in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Students get elementary training, along with academic education, in order to get placed in reputed Industries. The teaching faculty is active in conducting research and the publications in National/International conference proceedings/Journals are encouraged. As part of the curriculum, industrial visits are arranged for BE students in the third, fifth, and seventh semesters.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • To acquire knowledge in applied and basic engineering sciences to understand engineering principles which is necessary to formulate and solve problems related to Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • To develop knowledge in experimentation, analysis and synthesis of Electrical & Electronics Engineering courses to design/innovate and create novel products/solutions to real-life problems.
  • To inculcate managerial and entrepreneur skills, ethical and professional attitude, and multidisciplinary approach to meet the needs of industry and society.
  • To recognize the need for further studies and research in the phase of ever-changing technologies, and to ensure that the students succeed in the engineering positions globally

Program Outcomes (POs)

  • Engineering knowledge: apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Communication: communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

  • An ability to function in electrical industry in the areas of Design and development of software tools such as MAT-LAB,P-Spice, Keil Software, Flip Software, Solid Edge, Circuit Simulator, SCADA etc.
