AUTONOMOUS ACHIEVEMENT CELEBRATION
Raichur, Karnataka, 19/1/2025 –
Navodaya Institute of Technology (NIT), Raichur, part of the prestigious Navodaya Education Trust, hosted an AUTONOMOUS ACHIEVEMENT CELEBRATION on receiving UGC Autonomous Status. The event was graced by Hon’ble Chairman Sri S.R. Reddy, whose visionary leadership has been instrumental in the growth and development of the institution.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Dr. M.V. Mallikarjuna, Principal of NIT Raichur, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chairman for his unwavering support in achieving this milestone. The Principal also extended thanks to the Heads of Departments (HODs) and faculty members for their collective efforts.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Sri S.R. Reddy congratulated the Registrar, Directors, Principals of Navodaya Group of Institutions, as well as the HODs and faculty of NIT Raichur for their dedication and hard work. Recalling the institute’s journey, the Chairman shared the challenges and skepticism faced during its inception. Despite hurdles, his vision to establish NIT Raichur as one of the premier institutions in Karnataka and India remained steadfast.
The Chairman cited the example of BITS Pilani, which began as a modest initiative in a small village and is now recognized on the global map due to its strong vision and commitment. He emphasized that NIT Raichur should aspire to replicate such success and aim for global recognition.
The Chairman proposed the establishment of a Center of Excellence within the institute, envisioning collaborations with leading companies to foster innovation and research. He also stressed the need to appoint a Controller of Examination to streamline the conduction of examinations and uphold academic standards.
Looking ahead, the Chairman urged the Navodaya Education Trust and the Navodaya Group of Institutions to strive toward achieving the status of a Deemed-to-be University. He motivated the staff and administration to work diligently to achieve new milestones.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. C Suresh Babu, Director (Admin), NET – Raichur, acknowledging the contributions of all stakeholders in making this achievement possible.
This accomplishment marks a significant step forward for NIT Raichur and reinforces its commitment to delivering quality education and fostering innovation.
