Navodaya Institute of Technology’s Women Empowerment Cell was awarded the AICTE’s Lilavati Award-2020,
1st Runner up position on 11th April 2021 in presence of Dr.Ramesh Pokhrial ‘Nishank’, Hon’ble minister of Education
and Mrs.Smriti zubin Irani, Hon’ble minister of textiles and Hon’ble minister of women and child development,
Govt.of India at AICTE-New Delhi
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) instituted, ‘AICTEs Lilavati Award 2020’ to recognize the work done by the institutions /faculty/students from AICTE approved institutions in the area of ‘Women Empowerment’.
There were six subthemes as under:
- Women Health
- Self Defence
- Sanitation & Hygiene
- Literacy
- Women Entrepreneurship
- Legal Awareness
The Women Empowerment Cell of Navodaya Institute of Technology had enrolled under the sub theme Legal Awareness in December 2020 along with the events carried out summary and a short video. The Women Empowerment Cell-NITR team leader Mrs. Channaveeramma.E, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE presented the work carried out by team before the selection committee on 9th March 2021.
The Women Empowerment Cell -NITR team thanked the Management – NET, and Principal Dr.M.V.Mallikarjuna, all the Head of the departments, faculty and students of the institution for their encouragement and never ending support to achieve this milestone.
