On 08th December 2023, an industrial visit was conducted to Karnataka Power Corporation Limited, Raichur by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Navodaya Institute of Technology. Mr.Umesh, Assistant Engineer and Mr.Mallagowda, Assistant Manager KPCL, are responsible for explaining the complete operation raw materials such as coal, water, air, followed by processing of coal, water treatment, boiling of water from heat, motion of turbines from the product steam and recycling of products and water of the Raichur Thermal Power Station. He also convinced the effort behind manufacturing each unit of electricity and the ways in which electricity can be used adequately in everyone’s homes. The Raichur thermal power plant consists of 8 power generation units, 6 sections having a power generation capacity of 210 MW and the 8th unit having a power generation capacity of 250 MW. Together they have a capacity to produce 1620 MW per day. Head of Department Dr. K. Venkatachalam and Faculties Dr. Channaveeramma, Mrs. Muneeb Afzal, and Mrs.Reshma along with 37 students visited. Principal Dr. M. V. Mallikarjuna and the Management of Navodaya Educational trust are continuously supporting this type of industrial visit.
